Nice video. Are the strings the exact same brand and age? The sound difference seems like the MIA has newer strings, or is that the ebony? Or just the electronics? Thanks for the nice video work!

Crap. I was hoping this was a video showing the original blues Junior vs the lacquer tweed. I’m looking at buying a used blues Junior from a guy for a great price. I really want the lacquer tweed but I’ll take the original if it sounds right. I just don’t wanna pass the price up. $275. Tough decision. My heart tells me to just get the correct amp. Spend the extra money and get the amp I truly want, because I know it’ll always be in the back of my mind until I finally buy it. But at $275, that blues junior is a good price and I can always use it for lots of little projects. A little experiment platform amp. And it’ll be a great first tube amp for me. It’s hard to beat a fender tube amp for $275

Beautiful. Thank you. I'm only now in the market for a Princeton and this comparison solidifies and validates my previous assessment-i like the '65. The '68 sounds like it has a 'vintage filter' applied to it. I'm sure, without an A/B, it sounds fantastic, but immediately next to the '65, it sounds duller, muddier, flatter.

Hi , thru my midi module I’m getting a high latency setting (10.7 & 17 ) which I can’t adjust due to the Asio drivers being preset in the setup, I tried plugging the Td 50 x directly into laptop and low and behold I got incredibly low latency but popping etc . I read above about lowering the Asio settings in the Td 50 x but can’t find out where or how to do it . With AD 2 I was getting 1.5 ms latency so I’m at a loss . Any help would be greatly appreciated

    • @onomatopoeidia

Which midi module? Use the TD-50X for midi and audio connected direct via USB. Choose the vendor driver in the TD-50X so audio and midi stream via USB and install the driver on your computer. Choose the core audio system in the Daw and you will be able to adjust the buffer/latency.

Hard to tell when not there in the room, but unplugged sounds okay and loud enough for home use. For those of use who are getting older and find acoustic guitars less comfortable to hold, this guitar is an interesting option. Also, the sound projection from acoustics is mostly towards the audience and away from the player, whereas using an amp means that the sound can be directed back towards the player. Matters at home when trying to reduce disturbance to others but maximise listening satisfaction for myself.

Hi. I just receive mine today (22-8-22) and I followed your video... On my kit, the round circles that meant to go round the kick (back and front) looks good on the inside BUT on the very edges (both) looks as if they were old perhaps from a returned kick. Is this the way the wood meant to look on the edges? Anybody else... Thanks :)

@@Keifer-D thanks. It looks clearly new and smooth BUT at the same time looks like "dirty" (but just the very very edges, where the kick closed at both ends) its had to explain. In anycase I contacted the shop, sent some pictures and they say its nothing wrong but just these are the finishes. The good thing is that where these finished are located, I cant see them neither from the back while playing neither from the front if looking at it since I dont have space enough to look at the bottom of the front. Otherwise, IF, I would be seeing that permanently, I would not be very happy I have to say. Luckuly I even forgot all about it 😀

0:25 this isn't addressed in the video, but in the manual you'll read there are these two little protective pads that have an adhesive backing which you can stick to the top and bottom "lip" of the bass drum where you'll attach your kick pedal so you don't damage the drum.

So I have a question - I’ve followed all the steps here in this video and everything is sounding and playing great, the only issue I’m having is with my ride cymbal not triggering properly while using SD3 or EZDrummer. It all triggers fine running through the Roland module itself. Is this a MIIDI Mapping issue maybe? Has anyone else had this problem? It only seems to be triggering the “bow”….
